Monthly Book Club meet-ups
Each month we choose a new book and on the first Thursday evening of the following month you can join our meet-up in the bookshop to discuss that book.
We will be meeting up on Thursday 4th June 2026, 7:30pm - 9:30pm to discuss April's book - The Names by Florence Knapp.
Tickets are limited due to space and only £3 to attend (+booking fee)

Author Event with Michelle Harrison
Join us for a talk and Q&A with author Michelle Harrison as we find out about her new thriller, Two Little Liars. A ticketed event with an opportunity to purchase signed copies.
Takes place on Tuesday 9th June at 7pm.
Tickets are limited due to space. General admission is £5. Ticket plus a signed copy is £12

Monthly Art Group
We hold an art group on the second Thursday evening of each month. This is a creative session, providing an opportunity to share best practice, inspire each other and working together with other artists. Just bring along something to work on and your materials and enjoy the calm creative space of our bookshop.
Our first Art Group meeting is at 7;30pm - 9:30pm on Thursday 14th May 2026.
Tickets are limited due to space and it is only £5 (+booking fee) to book your space at the table.

Monthly Silent Reading Socials
An alternative to the traditional book club, we hold silent reading socials on the third Thursday evening of each month. This provides an opportunity to read your own book, of your own choice, in the calming atmosphere of our bookshop. You also have time before and afterwards to chat to other readers about what they are reading and discover new books, authors and genres.
Our next Silent Reading Social is on Thursday 21st May 2026, 7:30pm - 9:30pm. Tickets are limited due to space and only £3 per person (+ booking fee).

Author Event with Simon Marlowe
Join us for a talk and Q&A with author Simon Marlowe as we find out about his new crime thriller, Road to Mavis Grind. A ticketed event with an opportunity to purchase signed copies.
Takes place on Wednesday 1st July at 7pm.
Tickets are limited due to space. General admission is £5. Ticket plus a signed copy is £14.

Monthly Late Night Shopping
We have a late night shopping evening on the last Thursday of every month. Our normal hours close at 4pm, then we re-open from 6pm - 8pm, providing our customers with an opportunity to discover a book after work or other commitments.
It is worth noting that Phoebe's Pantry also hold a Dessert Night on the same night, providing additional opportunities for hot pudding along with your new book.
